Extension Registry Pedigree

For animals with at less than five generations of verified breeding heritage through ITBR or a recognised breeding organisation. Both Main Register (breeding rights) and Limited Register (companion only) are available.

OVERVIEW

Who The Extension Register is For

The Extension Registry is ITBR's secondary pedigree register. It is for animals with less than five generations of fully verified, traceable breeding heritage, either transferred from a recognised breeding organisation (such as Dogs Australia, MDBA, ACF, CCCA, or ANCATS), or produced from at least one Extension Registry Main Register parents already recorded with ITBR. For animals with partial traceable heritage via pedigree they are able to apply for a pedigree transfer. For animals with no formal heritage traceability they will go through a new individual extension registry application process.

Extension Registry animals may be registered on the Main Register (sold with full breeding and conformation showing rights) or the Limited Register (sold as companions with no breeding rights). The breeder selects which register applies at the time of litter registration.

All live offspring must be registered. Selective registration — registering only some offspring from a litter — is a breach of the ITBR Code of Conduct and will result in a formal breach finding. This includes any offspring you retain for yourself.

Processing time: within 15 business days from receipt of a complete application and full transfer fee being paid.

MAIN REGISTER VS LIMITED REGISTER

Choosing the Register at Time of Litter Registration

For each offspring, you choose at litter registration whether they go on the Main Register or Limited Register. This decision affects the buyer's rights.

Main Register
(FR-M)

  • Full breeding and conformation showing rights

  • Offspring are eligible for breeding under ITBR

  • Can be downgraded to Limited Register at any time by the breeder

Limited Register
(FR-L)

  • Companion animal — no breeding or conformation showing rights

  • Offspring cannot be registered with ITBR for breeding purposes

  • Upgrade to Main Register requires prior written approval from the original breeder

If the owner hasn't specified to you that they intend to breed or show with the animal under the ITBR register it is always best to place your offspring on the limited register.
