REGISTRIES

Four pathways. One health standard.

Every ITBR registry type requires DNA health testing for all breeding animals before any mating. What differs is the heritage documentation required. Start with the decision guide if you're unsure which applies to you.

Not sure which type you need?

The Which Registry Do I Need? page walks you through a simple decision guide based on your animals' heritage and your breeding goals. You can also contact ITBR before submitting anything we'd rather answer a question now than process an incorrect application later.

My animal has full papers from Dogs Australia, MDBA, or an ACF body

My animal is clearly purebred but has no/limited formal pedigree papers

I'm crossing two registered purebred breeds deliberately

I'm developing a new breed with a structured multi-generation plan

REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS

The requirement that applies to every pathway

Regardless of which registry type you use, one requirement never changes: all breeding animals must have completed all applicable compulsory DNA health tests before any mating occurs. There is no registry type, no heritage level, and no circumstance under which ITBR will process a litter registration where this requirement has not been met.

  • Full Registry — both parents tested before mating

  • Extension Registry — both parents tested before mating

  • Heritage Certificate — both parents tested for conditions relevant to both breeds before mating

  • Developing Breed — testing as specified in your developing breed plan (before mating)

  • Results stored on the ITBR database and with every pedigree

  • Genetic compatibility checked before every litter registration is processed
